In 2002 a Darien, CT teacher started My Tutor and Me with her husband to provide homework support to local students. Later we expanded our services to include private standardized test prep and tutoring in a broad range of K-12 + college subjects.

Focus on Neurodivergence
Since its inception My Tutor and Me has helped students who learn differently. Company founder, Shannon Converse, started My Tutor and Me while working as a special education teacher at the Royle school in Darien and today our work with neurodivergent students remains an important part of our mission. Patience and structure are our guiding philosophy. Our instructors provide measured guidance with the aim to give students a comfortable place to learn while detailed study recommendations and regular feedback to the families provide learners the framework in which to grow into academic skills.
Location and People
Initially an in-home tutoring service run from a home office, My Tutor and Me currently works out of our office space in downtown Darien. We pride ourselves on selecting tutors with phenomenal backgrounds who love to teach. Over the years we have had anywhere from twenty to over one hundred tutors working with us. Some of our most experienced instructors have worked with us for over twenty years and are among the best in the business. Today we still meet with students in their homes in Darien and neighboring towns, but also at the My Tutor and Me office as well as throughout the world online.
