Our instructors hold degrees from Yale, Princeton, UChicago and other top schools. Prep sessions use rigorous practice content and an individualized approach to help improve scores quickly. To keep students on task, study recommendations are emailed after each session to help ensure skill improvement and score growth

  • Weekly Updates

    Following each prep session, parents receive detailed progress reports with recommendations to help proctor their child’s study time. These emails help parents address roadblocks specific to their child and keeps the student, instructor and parents working as a team

  • Targeted Assignments

    We identify knowledge gaps and give students nightly homework to improve in the specific math, reading and writing topics that the student does not understand. We do not do generic courses but instead teach to what the student does not know to improve their scores

  • Solid Track Record

    My Tutor and Me has a strong track record of SAT and ACT score increases in both the math and reading and writing sections. As long as students complete our nightly assignments and take to heart our study recommendations our approach almost always improves scores

Should I take the SAT or ACT?

The best place to start is to take the PSAT and pre-ACT and then compare scores. On your own, you can also take an SAT practice test on the College Board Bluebook app and an official ACT practice test from ACT.org. The biggest differences are that the SAT math (while fewer topics) is more conceptually difficult. Topics on the ACT math section include precalculus units including logarithms and trigonometry not covered on the SAT but the questions are more straight-forward and conceptually easier. The SAT reading comprehension section includes old-English passages that are often difficult for English Second Language students while the ACT uses only on modern English passages.
